And in the midst of it all, we fit some of these in...because Easter is just a bunny hop away and I am behind on the ol' baking...we added Springy food coloring colors...here are more ideas on that...
My darling little cousin is quite the crafty tweener...I guess it runs in the family. Whenever she comes over we do a little craft. The last time she came over I taught her the basics of sewing and we made this. Let's just say she has high expectations now...because well...we made this...in an afternoon... I wanted an American girl when I was her age...And yes, the American girl doll wears Juicy Couture...I didn't mention my cousin was fashionable as well...I think I deserve cousin of the year award...what do you think?
I love the fashion on the doll. she is very up to date on her wardrobe. I don't know how you made those shorts, but they are great!! I miss my daughters playing with their dolls. The dolls are all packed away up in the attic awaiting for grandchildren to someday play with them. The one toy.. gosh I gotta go back many years.. but I think an Easy Bake Oven...would have loved on to bake and decorate all those goodies.
ReplyDeleteI am gonna agree with Tracy above and say the Easy Bake oven was something I never got as a kid, but would have loved to have. My Mom thought I would burn the house down with it. My 3 year old son has one now and loves to cook in his, so cute! I think it is priceless that you are teaching your cousin how to sew and bake. She is one lucky little diva and her doll is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAdorable AG outfit and adorable cookies. Are they just sugar cookies with the food coloring you added? I'd love to be able to progress my sewing skills to do something like that! (I'm taking a lesson right now to do a little summer outfit for my 3 year old--it's sketchy). The one toy I always wanted was the My Little Pony ballet studio...I NEVER got it. :( I wanted an AG too, but I can live vicariously through my girls, I suppose. ;)
ReplyDeleteI didn't want a lot of Things, as a kid, so I tended to get most of the ones I really wanted for Christmas. That sounds indulgent, but as the oldest of six kids, which meant I was on the broke end of the story, obviously I really did not really have much of a case of the Gimmes. What I always wanted so desparatly badly and never got though was ballet lessons. I plan on living vicariously through my own little girl as soon as she is old enough. haha! (but only as long as she enjoys it)
ReplyDeleteSnoopy Snow Cone Machine! haha The AG doll looks so fashionable in your creations. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteYou do deserve Cousin of the Year Award! What a cute outfit. A very well dressed doll.
ReplyDeleteOh, Ashley...you're a FABULOUS cousin!! I'm really jealous, too, because both of my parents were only children and I never got to experience the joys of having cousins.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is FAB! My daughter loved AG when she was younger...sadly, they're all in her closet on a shelf now, but I'm sure her future daughter will LOVE them, too!
Cute! Your cousin is very crafty, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI never got a little brother/sister. And I never got a Nintendo. :)
So adorable! She's got some serious talent!
ReplyDeleteI had an American Girl doll- she was my pride and joy! :) I always wanted a "Big Buddy/Big Sister" doll when I was little, the life size ones, but never got one... can't say my life was ruined because of it! haha
I can't remember a thing I didn't get, what a brat! Actually I never really wanted anything because we didn't watch T.V. so I didn't know about most toys. I lived in a great place where there was always so much to do outdoors. The cookies are on my list of projects, I love making goodies and then taking them to someone so I won't eat them all!~Jacque
ReplyDeleteAshley - can I come over for an afternoon so you can help me with my sewing skills? Ha ha! Wish it was that easy!
ReplyDeleteYou are an awesome cousin! Love the outfit and the cookies look delish!
I bought a fancy little horse when I was younger and a neighbor's dog ate it. I always wanted another one to replace it.
Snow cone machine. Darn it, I wanted one bad! It was the Snoopy one. :) Love the doll fashion! Very cute! And the cookies look yummy & festive!
ReplyDeletewhat a crafty girl!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot about the easy bake oven!! I totally wanted it, and never got it!
I'm new to your blog, by the way...it's great :)
I'm telling you...you are Martha Stewart. That is so adorable! You are so dang talented!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all....I love the cuteness of the little outfit!! Second of all..the cookies look scrumptious!! And lastly...I always wanted a Teddy Ruxpin{is that how you spell it?} The commercials made hime seem so real:0)
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known you when I played with AG dolls!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! What a fun cousin you are.
ReplyDeleteThe toy I wanted and asked for ALWAYS was a Spirograph. Not hard to please am I? How hard can it be to get a Spirograph? NOPE...Never got on. I lived though.
Have a great day.
Sandra
I can tell you that my daughter had a doll that she wanted and never got and she will never let me forget it LOL
ReplyDeleteWish I had a cousin like you! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't think of any toy that I wanted, but never got. Maybe because I grew up on a farm and we only got 2 fuzzy channels. No enticing commercials.
Oohhh! She has a Juicy ribbon! I probably could not even afford the ribbon! LOL! Cute outfit. I cant remember anything that I wanted that I didnt get! Well one thing is that I wanted a wood burning kit...it took my mom so long to finally buy it for me. She thought I would burn myself. Funny thing is that I took it out one night that I could not sleep and my mom came in my room and asked if I was smoking ciggarettes! LOL! She is so dorky!
ReplyDeleteThis is what my daughter wants to do all summer - sew clothes for her dolls. The only catch, she wants matching ones for her!
ReplyDeleteEasy Bake Oven for sure. And not a toy, but Guess jeans. Ugh, I wanted those so bad!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! And I'm sure much cheaper to make than the $35.00 outfits they sell at the store. The one toy I wanted as a child and didn't get would have been a swatch watch. Remember how in fashion those were...ugh!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I wanted the one where she really eats and pees.. I never got it so I bought it for my daughter... ;) jen
ReplyDeleteI always wanted an easy bake oven too....AND the snow cone machine (Snoopy, of course!!) But most of all, the Barbie townhouse! My BFF had it though, so at least I got to play with it.
