Remember my little
shabby outdoor cabana project? It started with a long piece of white fabric I had lying around the house.
I cut it up, hung it up, and am living the cabana dream I have always hoped for.
The only purchase I made on this project was some curtain rings. I staple gunned some wire to the overhang to hold them up and then clipped the fabric on. I was really trying to use what I had and not make this an expensive project. In the long run I might want to put them on a rod but for the time being, this will do. I probably could have even just staple gunned it right into the wood! By the time I get the ladder out to actually reach these bad boys to take down to wash, I might as well just pull staples out!
The two outer curtains I tied up with leftover fabric and the middle panels are tied up with red ribbon I had lying around the house. I was going for super frugal here...
More to come as I slowly bring the indoors out to create an airy and welcoming backyard cabana...
Have any items lying around to make a frugal masterpiece?

Ashley, love this idea. You have proven to bring beauty through a frugal eye. It's great to reuse things and see what you can create with what you have on hand. Great Job!

That is amazing. Now, when I move you want to come help me create a retreat patio? :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Ashley, I just love your outdoor room & really, really want to do a gazebo/cabana on our back deck. I love what you've done to yours. Looks like yours is all open on the top, I'm looking at a covered gazebo from Target that I hope to make work. There is nothing like hanging outside during the summer. Enjoy your room!
ReplyDeleteLucky you to get to go to Hawaii too! Loved the pics.

I've been trying to talk my husband into the idea of outdoor curtains. I think showing him your photos will help change his mind. Just gorgeous!!!

Neat idea! You have me eyeing my back patio now... oh boy.
ReplyDeleteDonna
I love it! I wish I had something to connect to on my back patio!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I think I'd spend all my time sitting outside if I had a space like that! We've got too many bugs, mosquitoes and wasps buzzing around so we've got a boring old gazebo with netting up...otherwise we wouldn't get to do anything outside!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm doing something similar on my patio for the 4th of July. If it works out, I'll post some pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely space! Perfect for snuggling up with a book or for hosting a fun party! Love it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabulous cabana - very calming and inviting!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
