And with my best friend white spray paint in hand, she turned out to be this...
I am proof that with a little courage, you too can tackle that infamous project that just seems too scary. I have surprised myself many times by going out on a limb and trying something new. You will never know how it turns out until you give it a try. When it comes to painting, many of you have asked how I do it...just grab some paint and go! With a little experimentation, you start learning on your own and the confidence comes. If I can do it, you can do it!
The chandelier is next...I will have to put my big girl shoes on for that one!
What is YOUR scary project? What are you afraid to work on? Have you overcome project anxiety?
Looks wonderful! Great Job!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! My scary project is refinishing a desk in my spare room. Although I'm not sure why I'm scared. I got it for free and it's hideous so it really cannot get any worse I don't think.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out wonderful! I actually have 2 scary projects... paint an huge armoire in black and a chandelier too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous!! :) I just ended up buying a lamp at Wal-Mart b/c I haven't been able to find one at a thrift shop/SA/ or yard sale that I liked. Scary project #1 will be to add some fringe to the shade. Scary project #2 is hanging all my pictures in our addition. I get so nervous about hanging stuff up...will it be straight? will I find something more cute that I should have put there? etc. etc.
ReplyDelete;)
Good job! I like the white MUCH better!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project! It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, its funny because I have had anxiety over a project all night and morning... I really want to cover my headboard... I have got to suck it up and just do it!
Love your new lamp! I just bought one at a yardsale this weekend for $2. It needs a new lampshade, so I will be searching for one of those.
ReplyDeleteI also just bought a chair that I need to paint and reupholster. I good with the paint part, but I am very nervous to do the fabric!
It looks awesome. I get scared of putting molding, but thankfully, my hubby does it for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful. Love the color. Before you know it, you'll be wiring and creating your own lamps, I just know it!!!
ReplyDeleteSandra
Lamp looks great. I just fabricated (covered with fabric) a lampshade of mine this morning.
ReplyDeleteBut my scary project that I dream about all of the time is painting my kitchen cabinets. I so want to do them in black, but I am so crazy afraid that I'll hate it after I've done all the work.
Beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteDear Ashley it's gorgeous :-) Congrats! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeletehey, love the lamp. Can't wait to see the chandelier
ReplyDeletelooks pretty darned good!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Good job. :) And as for the chandelier - you can totally do it. :)
ReplyDeleteYou did great! I'm really not scared of anything anymore. I get things so dirt cheap that if I mess it up I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. $2 chair here, free lamp there, who cares? And usually I can revive it somehow, it's all about options!
ReplyDeleteI've been spary painting some lamps lately. Gotta love what paint can do! My next task is to recover the lampshades. I'm trying to find the perfect fabric. I just love how your lamp turned out. I may have to try painting one white...
ReplyDeleteMy big, scary project is actually 3...a big ol' armoire, and two antique chests. One of them won't be too bad...I have to reassemble the drawers in that one and then finish it, the other one needs to have veneer removed...should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI need to redo my bookshelves. (shudder)
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny you know my pose!
:)
I haven't forgotten about your feature! It's in the line up! :)
I think I did this ONCE. Lol! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat transformation! Good job it looks great.
ReplyDeleteyou did a great job! I'm totally impressed...
ReplyDeleteGood move with the lamp! Don't fear that chandelier (they aren't as scary as you would think). Have a well ventilated space to spray away, hang a wire strong enough to hook your fixture on, clean your fixture well, and go to town lady! I look forward to seeing your finished product:)
