My Sweet Nephew’s Nursery

Elijah's RoomMy sweet little nephew was born just weeks ago.  He is too cute for words and I am amazed at just how much I love this little boy.  His mom and dad did a fantastic job on his room.  They painted the stripes on the wall and my sister in law sewed matching curtains and a laundry basket liner.  DSC_0004Letters and a vinyl owl fill up the changing station wall. DSC_0005I am absolutely head over heels in love with the A, B, C’s.  A co-worker made these for a shower they threw for the baby.  She said they are letters from the craft store that she painted.  And coincidently they are the exact color of the room!DSC_0003 Such a sweet little room for such a sweet little boy!  Makes me want to have a baby!  Ok, well, maybe not yet…

If you are a momma, what have your baby’s nurseries looked like?

  2. Love this room! It looks great. I did my nursery in yellow and green. It has contrasting stripes around the top of the room and there are photos of baby animals all over the walls. It worked great for the girls and now my son.

  5. I never got to do a nursery for our first daughter because we were moving and waiting on possession of our house when she was a baby, so I missed out on that fun little part of preparing. For my second daughter I did aqua blue, accented with white, pink, and light lime green. There are lots of brighter colors throughout the quilt I'm making and the change table and bassinette ruffle I did as well, but those colors are consistant throughout.

  6. our sweet peanut is 4 months old and her room is still in progress! i went into labor 4 weeks early and we had no carpet upstairs which meant we had no furniture set up! it had been back ordered and my husband waited till the last minute to order it to begin with. I had planned to organize 2 weeks before my dd when the carpet was in and I was off from work but that didn't happen. So far 3 walls are painted dark pink and the wall w/ the window is white. I really like the difference. I decided to use canvas (the kind you paint on) and cut out flowers w/ my cricut, her name, a bird house, swirly designs and so on to make some wall art. It's a small room so there isn't much I can do b/c I didn't want to hang anything over her crib. I also will sew a curtain and some other accents. It's not as neat as your SIL's nursery but I still like it. Slowly I will do more...right now I'm trying to enjoy maternity as I go back to work on Jan 3rd and am also trying to get some Christmas projects finished.

Enjoy life as a newly wed! Of course you are past the first year already but continue to enjoy:) You will have a wonderful time staying at home and being a mom. What I'm trying to say is that we waited to have kids too and made sure we enjoyed married life as a childless couple for a while. We took some trips, drank a lot of wine, had quiet nights by the fire just talking and so on... It was great:) When the baby finally came we were ready and willing to move onto our new life as parents and our new married life as a family:) You will enjoy both and am glad you are making sure to savor the time just as husband and wife as well:)

  12. we were bouncing from apartment to apartment wjen both of my children were born (we couldnt keep up with how quickly our family grew). Now that we are settled in our home I am focusing on their big kid rooms. They are still little, 2&3, so we are definately doing something with a little whimsy.
