Today I am joining up with Angela of Cottage Mapgie's Christmas Parade 2012 by hosting a holiday recipe link up party. Can we say yum!!! You can check our Angela's post where she also said some really nice things about me today here--aw shucks!
I am excited to share a new recipe (passed down by my mom), chocolate-vanilla-pudding-walnut-cheesecake. Mm...hmm. Lick your lips good and not as fattening as it tastes (that's a win in my book!).
I also have a little round up below of some of my favorite dessert recipes that are great for this time of year. And of course, this is your chance to come link up your own favorite holiday recipes (new or old posts are welcome)! I cannot wait to see them! Too bad we couldn't have some sort of virtual internet taste test! Let the partying begin!
Ingredients:
-1 stick of butter
-1 cup of flour
-3/4 cup chopped walnuts
-1-8 ounce package of 1/3 less fat cream cheese
-1 medium container of fat free whipped topping
-1/2 cup powdered sugar
-3 cups of milk
-1 small package of sugar free instant chocolate pudding
-1 small package of sugar free instant vanilla pudding
Combine butter, flour, and 1/2 cup of walnuts. Press into a 9x11 pan or individual serving dishes. Bake for 20 minutes at 325 degrees for a 9x12 pan. For the individual serving dishes, I started checking around 10 minutes until they were cooked through.
Make pudding according to package directions. Refrigerate.
Mix softened cream cheese, 1 cup of whipped topping, and 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
Once crust is cooled, layer ingredients...
On top of the crust layer:
1. Cream cheese mixture
2. Chocolate pudding
3. Vanilla pudding
4. Top with remaining whipped topping and chopped nuts
It's quite delicious. And if you are not worried about maintaining your figure this holiday season, feel free to swap out the lighter ingredients for full fat. It's decadent.
And if that wasn't enough for your, a few other holiday favorites:
