We had another little celebration in our backyard this summer for my mom and cousin's birthday. For this party I let our flower centerpieces create the theme. Bright pink hydrangeas and multicolored polka dot napkins made for the perfect girly setting.
I cannot even begin to explain how ecstatic I am about our hydrangeas. They are growing so well. Using them as the main centerpiece felt so fancy. I joke with my husband about "our next wedding" where I will use this or that new idea. As I was putting out these hydrangeas I told myself that I didn't need another wedding. I get to live it out in our backyard every summer and it is perfect!
I have told you a thousand times, but these paper straws I found on Amazon are my favorite and are the best prices I have seen out there (we are talking like $6 for 144 straws!!!).
I played off of the pink theme with washi tape polka dot flags. These are way easier than cutting out paper flags! I may never cut cupcake flags again!
I love this happy birthday banner I got for my birthday last year. Accompanied by some pink balloons, it made for a lovely food table display.
The sun was just screaming through the trees.
I really enjoy using one long table. I put together two folding tables creating a more intimate setting where everyone gets to be a part of the conversation. I think it's an introvert thing?
The cute birthday girls!
Unfortunately since the nights are so long, it doesn't start getting dark until the party wraps up. I am looking forward to some early fall get togethers this year where we can better enjoy the lights into the evening.
Cheers to long summer nights!
love the lights! can't wait to throw my own backyard parties when we close on our house next month!
