Can you tell I am on a healthy eating kick? Or perhaps a protein powder kick? I love my protein powder. It's my go to breakfast option that fills me up without upsetting my body so finding new ways to change it up keeps my morning ritual a little more fun.
I love cereal. But I can never eat just one bowl. I have to have two. Perhaps it's just a bad habit but I really am never full very long after having a bowl. By combining protein powder, this morning meal fills you up while still feeling like you are having cereal with the rice cake. Believe me this is not just diet food. This stuff is good.
Rice Cake and Protein Powder Cereal
2 cinnamon rice cakes
1/2 cup of almond milk
1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1/2 banana
1/3 cup of blueberries
Mix almond milk and protein powder until mostly dissolved. Break up rice cakes in a cereal bowl. Top with banana and blueberries. Pour almond milk and protein powder mixture over cereal.
Make sure to drink up the leftover milk! That's where the protein is!
If you like more milk in your cereal you can use 1 cup of almond milk but I do not like to drink too much of the milk after the cereal is gone so the 1/2 cup seems to be just enough.
Approximately 200 calories.
I really need to give protein powder a try. I just used to think it was so weird to get protein in a powdered form, instead naturally from foods. But I could use a filling breakfast item that's easy to make!
