Over the past few weeks I have been on a super protein shake kick. And this is more than just my usual breakfast shake. I have been having them for snacks and for lunch and even sometimes dinner. When the weather starts to get warmer, I can chug these things down all day. They help clear out my system and get me back on track when my food intake needs a little tweaking.
So during my recent protein shake fix, I came up with a new combination - almond joy. It is based off of my coffee version and it is amazingly good. It's green because I put spinach in it, which is completely optional. But considering that you cannot taste it, I highly recommend including it.
The line up of ingredients are my go tos: spinach, sugar free Torani syrup, almond milk, Designer Whey protein powder, and a frozen banana (not pictured). Between these four items, I come up with all sorts of delicious combinations.
Almond Joy Protein Shake
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1/2 cup Almond Breeze Original Almond Milk
1 cup water
4-5 ice cubes
1/2 frozen banana
1 squirt/tablespoon Sugar Free Coconut Torani Syrup
1 squirt/tablespoon Sugar Free Almond Torani Syrup
big handful of spinach
Add all ingredients into blender and blend.
