I am happy to share today that our little guy has a name! After thoughtful deliberation we decided on the name Titus. His middle name will be the same as his dad's but for sake of uncertainty of the internet presence I want to give him, we will be keeping that one private for now.
The name Titus comes from one of my favorite books of the Bible. While we did not intend on giving our child a Biblical name, Brent and I both kept coming back to this name for it's strength and uniqueness. We agreed that the book of Titus is a very clear picture of a lot of values we share and so passing that on to our first son only seemed fitting.
It still seems weird to give him a name. He's just "baby"! So I am hoping that the name will feel more natural when he pops out.
But my favorite part of sharing the name early - hearing my sweet nephews and niece refer to him by name. It is about the sweetest thing ever. They already love their baby cousin and it melts my heart. What a lucky boy Titus already is!
"Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us."
Titus 2:2, 6-8
