Packing for six people either on short trips or long ones, is a lot of work! Having this pre-packed toiletry bag saves me so much time and guarantees I don't forget anything.
I recently got a new toiletry bag as our family of six outgrew our last one. It is big and beautiful but also squishy enough to cram into a suitcase. It is one of those small things in life that brings a lot of joy!
Something I have been doing for a long time is using small clear bags to divide up the items. This helps me find what I need and keep things organized.
Here is a layout of all the things that fit inside.
+ Reusable makeup removing wipes (love these so much - just this and water gets my makeup off)
+ Toothbrushes and contacts stuff
+ My bedside sleep stuff - eye mask, earplugs, chapstick, tylenol (I pull out this bag and put it on the nightstand for easy to reach essentials)
+ Hair ties and accessories
+ Glasses (an old pair I keep in this bag so I don't have to pack my current pair)
+ Floral makeup bag - I just recently bought separate makeup to put in this bag but, before this, having a different bag was easy to grab and pack
+ Shower stuff
+ Laundry bag - this has been so helpful to have a designated dirty laundry bag that can be thrown in the wash alongside our clothes when we got home
+ Deodorant and lotion
+ Extra beauty supplies that I don't necessarily use everyday - medicated ointment, hairspray, cold sore cream, extra face lotion (in case I forget to pack my regular)
+ Hair brushes - mine and my daughter's
+ Laundry supplies - a string and clothes pins to hang a line to dry clothes if needed, laundry detergent
Everything fits neatly inside the bag. I put the less used stuff on the outside pockets so that our everyday stuff is easier to rummage through.
I also started organizing my vitamins better. I have a small vitamin case that I fill, extra magnesium supplement in a small bottle, and a couple of tea bags of my favorite teas in a travel tin. They fit great in these clear toiletry bags (that I also use for my kid's airplane busy bags).
I use another bag to pack some kid's medications. We have yet to need these on travel but the idea of having to deal with a sick kid in the middle of the night, keeps me packing this!
Not pictured, I also got a travel shoe storage bag and it is great! It keeps my shoes separate from everything so they don't get dirty.
Besides the vitamins and medicine, these all get packed away in our suitcases to store. So when it is time to start packing, everything is right there and ready. It has been so helpful to have so many things pre-packed so I don't have to worry about forgetting anything.
