The Story Of You | Baby Photo Book Through First Birthday

I am a bit behind in sharing some of the photo books I have made in the past few years. Today I am finally getting around to sharing some of my kids' baby book photo books. These are photos and stories I want to remember from pregnancy through their first birthday. I include weekly pregnancy updates as well as weekly and monthly photos after baby is born. And of course, everything in between - baby showers, special trips, maternity photos, and newborn photos.

I made one of these for our oldest that I shared here. I used the same formatting but just slightly changed up the designs each time depending on what I was drawn to that year. My goal was to always finish this project before the next baby was born. I need to put it on my new year to do list to finish up our fourth's and then we will be complete!

Here is our daughter's story of you baby photo book:

We have always taken the finding out pregnancy test at night and then wake up the sibling(s) in the middle of the night to take a photo with them. It is a silly and sweet little tradition.

Weekly pregnancy photos and updates - I find posting this somewhere (like in a pregnancy app or private Instagram account) makes it helpful to track everything and then come back to later.

Our pregnancy announcement

I always love photographing and including pregnancy cravings!

Announcing we were having a girl!

More pregnancy memories - gifts from friends, packing my pregnancy pillows for an overnight stay, and one of many baths.

A fun pregnant family Halloween costume

Lots of bumpie photos - we had such good lighting in our Virginia home!

Announcing baby girl's name

Maternity photos in our backyard on a snowy day

We had moved from California to Virginia so my sweet family put together a baby shower in a box care package.

Some photos of the quilt I made and of the nursery

A babymoon day trip outing

Our girl was breech and we were able to have a successful version procedure and she flipped!

Weekly monitoring due to being breech

Pre-covid our parents came to Virginia to be there for the birth and to help out with our son. Strange to think how normal it is now that our next two births would not have any visitors come see us in the hospital.

Photos from our first days together

Our family newborn photos

Photos from a trip back home so our family could meet the baby

Weekly and monthly photos documenting her growth

Then the book ends with photos from her first birthday.

For the final pages I like to put a collage of the four milestone events - announcing pregnancy, gender reveal, maternity photo, and a birth photo.

The back cover

Our third was our pandemic baby, being born in 2021. We have a lot less pictures because their were less events. But it was still a special and memorable pregnancy and birth of our baby boy.

Finding out and waking up our sleepy kids!

Pregnancy announcement

Our very fun confetti gender reveal

Weekly pregnancy updates and watching the bump grow

Pandemic photos, crazy snow in the northwest, and arriving with blue balloons to let our kids know we were having a boy.

Announcing his name and a selfie with my pandemic friends that took me out to dinner to celebrate our baby boy.

Our family maternity photos

Photos of the nursery all set up

Masking and facetiming - signs of 2021

Sweet memories of those tired first days together

Family newborn photos

Most of our family came to us this time around to meet our boy. So instead of trip highlights we included the slow and special days we had at home that summer.

Weekly and monthly photos and updates

Then the book ends with his first birthday

Just like the other books, I end with a fun collage of major events - pregnancy announcement, gender reveal, maternity photo, and newborn photo.

Back cover

That first year is wild and exhausting. I have times where I feel like I can barely remember much of it. I am so grateful for the photos and notes I took along the way so that I can look back nostalgically over this special season of our lives.
