Back before blogging and thrifting I used to scrapbook and watch HGTV. This was the beginning stages of my home decor abilities... Now I have grown to bigger and better things but I found these pictures and thought I would share an easy tip for covering a bare wall.
This was in my room where my futon was set up as a day bed. No head board? How about some curtains. Throw something in the middle to balance it all out and you have a fantastic and easy wall/head board fill on just pennies.
Do you use a head board or do you have something else?
I'm planning on doing something very similar to this WHEN I get to my bedroom redo!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a headboard, and I just love this look!
Thanks for sharing!
Ok....help!
ReplyDeleteI need curtains in my living room, but have no idea what kind/ color. Ben has terrible allergies, so I don't want to put up something that will make them worse. And I don't want long ones that the babies can pull down. Any advice?
Very clever!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, easy and not much money. My daughter doesn't have a headboard so I took a panel, very colorful..black with blocks of different countries and love the effect. It hangs from a piece of spray painted PVC pipe and some brackets I had.. instant headboard.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head with scrapping and HGTV. I still have boxes of sorted photos and piles of pretty paper and die cuts! But blogging and thrifting are much more fun, aren't they? You get to meet such nice people. I love reading your tips.

So very clever!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love adding some softness to a room with fabric- and this is a great idea. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI love that! Very clever!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty idea. I have a blank wall I need to do something with. I've been looking for an old window...No luck so far.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. It would also look great with a couple of old windows hung behind the curtains.
ReplyDeleteRight now I don't have a headboard, I just use lot's of pillows. I'm searching for an affordable antique bed or I'm eventually going to make one myself.
I'm hosting a giveaway, stop by when you get a chance and enter.

Nope, don't have a headboard. I did something VERY similar though. I have these hideously ugly 1970's windows all through my house. They are oddly placed and so not spaced evenly in the room. Did I mention that they are U.G.L.Y? Well, in my MB I hung a ginormous bamboo shade to "fake" a headboard and to make the windows look centered. Then I flanked the shade with paisley curtain panels from Target (3.24 each). and yes...for now...it works for me!
ReplyDeleteThat works! It looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a headboard since I moved out for college, but my next step is to hunt down some groovy old ceiling tiles and mount them as the headboard. They are hard to find around here in Idaho! Love the bows, by the way!
ReplyDeleteyou are so creative! love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteYou were a baby decorator...now you are all grown up!
I love this look and have really been thinkin of doing it in our almost to big master bedroom.
