Learning to be a Good Wife 101

CIMG1305We registered at Sear’s…and not for their “softer side”!  More than most women, I know many of you DIY ladies out there can appreciate power tools a little more than the normal woman…  CIMG1311 Let’s just say he was like a little kid in a candy store…he was a very happy boy!CIMG1315 Because let’s be honest, it’s not just all about me anymore, is it ladies?CIMG1301To allow my husband-to-be (who so kindly asked me first!) to have a little fun of his own in this whole wedding event…was well worth the joy it brought him and the good wife points I earned for myself!CIMG1308 Plus when I say honey…will you build me…

…he will have to be more than willing, right!?

CIMG1303And just in case you thought there was nothing feminine in the tools section…

…and let me just mention that you get very interesting looks when you are frolicking around the tools section wearing a skirt and taking pictures of everything…

Have any good-wife advice?

  2. Kudos Ashley on letting your to be hubby in on the action. Great first step. My advice on being a good wife is to listen more speak less. Also, be his best friend. I know you will be awesome.

  3. Tracey said it! You're doing great and let him "think" it's about him from time to time. Choose your battles, forget about the little stuff and IT'S ALL LITTLE STUFF.

  4. Hahaha..."frolicking." :) Good for you!!! I will echo Rebecca and say "pick your battles," for sure. It's not the end of the world if he registers for some tools. And it looks like you already knew that. :)

  5. That is great. It's a really good idea to put some things on your registry that are more focused towards your hubby. If there are guests coming who only know him, or who know him much better than they know you, they may feel more comfortable getting a "manly" gift because they will feel like they are contributing to him. We also put some camping gear on ours, along with the tools.

  6. My good wife advice is...to continually praise and build him up. Men like to know they are needed and appreciated. ps I like the feminine tools...what I would do with fancy screw drivers, I don't know, but they sure did look pretty.

  7. Yay for being such a sweet wifey-to-be! My hubby was "lucky" enough to marry the daughter of a hardware store owner thus he's gotten the hook up with tools.
