Over time I have slowly learned a thing or two about blogging and social networking. It can all be very overwhelming but I find that the more I research and the more I read and “ease drop” on other blogs, I have learned enough to be able to analyze my own blog and what ultimately gains me more traffic. Now I could go on and on but today I thought I would stick to one thing: referrals. I once had a lot of time to pour into my blog as I grew it to what it is today. But due to many factors, mostly being a newlywed, I do not have as much time to blog hop, meet new friends, and research this whole blogging thing. Fortunately I am still able to gain new readers (who in turn become new friends) because of referrers. I am forever thankful for these.
You can choose your host to analyze your blog data. I am currently using Google Analytics but find Site Meter much more user friendly for beginners. Basically it tells you how much traffic you get and where it comes from along with some other internet savvy information I have no clue about. So out of the many lovely blog friends I have, these ladies have given me the most referrals this month.

THANK YOU!!!
There are many ways to get more referrals…join blog parties, being on someone’s blog list, having a featured post, etc. In my small way to pay it forward, I recently added my blog roll to my sidebar and will be updating my top referrers. It is amazing how simply being on this list will get you many clicks. I hope that you too will benefit as being a regular reader to DF and get some extra clicks here and there as well. Happy blogging!
How do you social network with your blog?
Aww, thanks for the linky love. :) Having those referrals really does help!! My top referrer is Centsational Girl. I think I must get clicks from her blog roll b/c the guest post I did for her was ages ago, and I don't know that people would still be clicking over from that.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of showcasing your referrers. That's great. :)
You're right. It is overwhelming. I feel like I could have been doing so much to help my blog grow over the last year and a half (since I've been unemployed, I still am but hopefully I will be working SOON). But I haven't really done anything much. I do network by visiting other blogs and leaving comments. I'm just not really sure where to start.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley! :) What a nice surprise!!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to have you on my blogroll in my sidebar! The fact that it's making a difference for you is just icing on the cake!
