Birthday Party :: Playing With My Big Fancy Camera
Here is the second half of the birthday festivities with my family…post receiving my new best friend…my pictures have never looked better…My adorable brother…soon to be father of his first child…this is what happens when you make that face…it gets posted on the internet…My wonderful friend Jahmese…My little models of the night…they had no problem smiling for the camera… The beautiful ambiance of our very own backyard…My favorite man… My darling parents… What a beautiful night to celebrate…What are your birthday family traditions?
Oh, your backyard looks idyllic. I just turned 35 yesterday (OY!) and I decided that I wanted to go to a park and take pictures with balloons. I think that would be a nice tradition...although for the kids we take them to a photo studio every year.But mostly for me is spending time with family, my next celebration is next weekend for Hibachi dinner and then our family is coming for the weekend after that to attend the Renfest.

When I was a little girl my parents would plan "treasure hunts" for me to find my stash of presents. Clues would be hidden throughout the house (or outside) and I would have to "hunt" for my gifts. When my kids were born I started doing these treasure hunts and even planned them for my husband's bday so the kids could help him hunt. As they got older my kids planned the hunts for us (and believe me they had us crawling over and under everything - the fun is to exhaust the birthday person, apparently). It's a tradition I hope they will carry on with their kids, but when they come home now as young adults, we still make them "hunt" for their presents.
I just love your backyard! My backyard is a sloped gopher ridden mess! I've been working my way around from the front to the back and I can't wait until my yard is as much fun as yours :)
