I do not show off our porch much. It is not too exciting every other season of the year. But my parents passed down their colored lights that we grew up with and I realized how much I love all the colors compared to the white lights I have done previous years. I love how you can see into our home…into all the glimmering lights. It reminds me of that scene in Home Alone when Kevin sees into a home, seeing how happy the family is, and realizes he misses his own. There is something homey and welcoming about seeing into how people live. I love it. And check out the reflection of the tree in the mirror…more loveliness. I hope that all the lights invite our guests into our cheery holiday home… We also strung lights on the side fence of our house that faces the street. I found that draping the lights instead of keeping them in a straight line made it look more festive. It feels like Christmas…
How do you decorate the outside of your home for the holidays?

ReplyDeleteI am so thankful my husband is proud to adorn our home with big retro colorful lights.
I really like it :)
Your home looks so fun and festive. I just posted our house lighting on my blog today. We use the little white lights on our house. Not quite as festive as yours, but I like it.
ReplyDeletelove it. I love how it looks festive but, not overdone. Simple and beautiful. I also like how you can see your tree through the window. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've only decorated the outside of our house once and it was just the big lights like that around the roofline. Maybe some day we'll get our act together and decorate all fun and festive outside!
ReplyDeleteThat's a long fence! & your porch is absolutely lovely.
