A {13.1} Kind of Day :: Half Marathon

DSC_0507

Today is the big day.  My first half marathon.  I have been training {for about a week and a half}.  I am one of those responsible procrastinators.  I work best under pressure.  I will get the job done but I have to wait until the last minute to work most efficiently.

I was able to put in a couple of 10 mile runs this last week.  I learned after my first one that you should not stop to drink ten gallons of water no matter how good it tastes.  I am pretty sure I heard someone say, “save some for the whales.”

And I have been trying to eat a clean diet…avoiding those delicious foods that tend to send me to the bathroom one too many times.  ;)

Anyways, I am super excited and a bit nervous.  My goal is to run/jog the whole time…no walking.  I think I can do it.  And of course my handy husband will be taking lots of photos so I will update you on how it went.

Wish me luck! xxoo

  1. Good luck, Ashley! I can barely run to the end of my (short) driveway without passing out, so I am very impressed by marathon (or half marathon) runners. :)

  12. I hope it went well, Ashley! I'm impressed that you did a few 10 mile runs in one week, and hope the preparation pays off! After I did my first one, I couldn't wait to run a full (which I NEVER would have imagined thinking or saying before), so curious to see if you have the same reaction. :-)

  14. Oh I AM jealous! I did one when the last babe was---oh about 5 mos old! Never felt more femine & STRONG. ;-)

I bet you did great--& oh I haven't had a *real* run since....unless you count chasing after the now nearly 2yo. ;-)

My husband ran that distance yesterday--I'm SO green w/ envy. seriously.

    Good job girl!!!
