I consider myself a confident-will step up and speak when I need to-friendly-introvert. On the surface I can be sociable but deep within me I would rather hide all by myself. But I realize I was not created to live alone…rather I am to live in community with others.
A good storyteller doesn’t just tell a better story, though. He invites other people into the story with him, giving them a better story too.My mom always thanks me for including her in me and my husband’s lives. She jokes her and my dad live a simple life, and so by being a part of things we do as young newlyweds, she gets to be a part of our story…giving her a better story as well.
People are busy these days. I have put up walls with people because of hurt of them never being available or wanting a relationship when it is just convenient for them.
But despite all of this I am reminded that I need to embrace the people I am blessed to have around me. And allow them to be a part of my story and for me to be a part of theirs. Because when we can be a part of each other’s stories, we are able to live a better story.
