Off to Disneyland :: A Place Close to My Heart

Today we are heading to southern California for a little trip to Disneyland {yay!!!}.  Not only is it the happiest place on earth but over the past few years it has become a special place deep within my heart.  Let me tell you why…
Two years ago today, we got engaged.  If you were around back then, you might remember we got engaged near Long Beach and spent the following day celebrating in Disneyland. 


Just about three months later we got married {I had been tapping my foot for awhile!}.


Fast forward a bit to our one year anniversary.  We spent our anniversary weekend practicing newlywed frugality and enjoyed our time at home.

I know some of you will remember this “buttercream” cake!  wink.

Then, last minute, we were able to scrounge up some cash to get us to Disneyland to top off our big one year. 


Now fast forward to today and coincidently, on our engagement anniversary, I am in the car with hubby and my parents heading to Disneyland!  I am excited to be able to share with my parents the lighthouse and beach where we got engaged and to reminisce about that special day!
You all know I love nostalgia and memories, so I was quite tickled to remember that today is our engagement anniversary.  I couldn’t imagine spending it with any other man.
