How to Know if You Have Been "Pinned" on Pinterest

I am always curious about where some of my blog traffic comes from and am often surprised to learn what I can do to gain more traffic.  There are so many blog link up parties and talented bloggers to network with, I often get overwhelmed by it all and choose to not connect at all.

Despite all the "do's and dont's" of blogging, the one thing I do always try to do is form a relationship with my readers.  I figure if you are willing to stop by and say hello on a regular basis, you deserve my attention more than trying to get ahead in the blogging world.  It is the community here that keeps me motivated and encouraged to blog.

So today I thought I would share one way to find out where some of your traffic is coming from...Pinterest!  Now I must admit I was a little hesitant to jump on the Pinterest bandwagon as it was just another thing I "needed" to do to stay connected.  It wasn't until I saw that I started getting traffic from there that I realized it was worth some of my time.

Using Pinterest is another great way to connect with readers and find some pretty amazing things around the Internet!  You can even "pin" yourself for a little shameless advertisement {though I don't recommend doing that a lot...just your absolutely amazing ideas!}.  It is also a great way to promote your readers by "pinning" some of their posts.  It is all about spreading the "pinning" love!

And while we are on the topic...want to be more "pinnable"?  Take good pictures.  Good lighting.  Set your shot up.  I am more likely to repin something when the photo is beautiful.  You don't have to be an awesome photographer to take a good picture.  You will be amazed how much better your photos will turn out if you simply turn a few more lights on.

So how do find out if you have been pinned?
All you have to do is add your blog url into the highlighted spot.  No need for http:// or www.  Simply copy and paste your url over mine and look it up!

  2. Thank you for sharing this great tip! Interesting to see what others have pinned.

I've been pinning for a while, and admit I was a bit addicted at first. :-) And, I also thought it was something I *had* to do to stay connected. But in the early days of Pinterest, it really wasn't driving much traffic (not like now), so I kind of relaxed, and now I don't worry about it. But it still sends lots of traffic my way, which I appreciate!

  4. Amen! I get so many emails from people wanting to be featured on Centsational Girl, but their pictures are either teeny tiny or bad lighting. I feel bad, especially when the project is a good one!

  5. Really helpful tip, thanks! I'm following you on Pinterest now too. I am not great about remembering to pin or check out other people's but I do like it and find it to be a refreshing change sometimes from the Facebook "Like" button or retweeting content.

    Here's my link. Thanks again!
