For me, the last few summers has meant spending many of my days out in the yard. It has been such a blessing to call our house a home as we beautify and add to it a little more each year.
But while I am spending many of my afternoons in this California heat, I can easily become a hot sweaty mess...not feeling my greatest for any type of going out into public night life.
Between trying to beautify my yard and keeping myself look presentable, I try to take care of my skin with all the wear I am putting on it in the summer.
So today I am sharing a few tips on how I am protecting my skin and taking care of myself this summer:
-I am using garden hand moisturizer before and after I work in the yard so that it helps keeps my hands protected from drying out from the dirt or getting cut up in the shrubs. And though I don't always remember, I try to wear gloves for double protection. As you can see in the picture, I forgot again.
-I also try to remember to take off my wedding ring as the dirt wears off the white gold on my band. I wish I knew this little fact earlier on.
-Protecting my skin naturally from the sun with long clothing and hats.
-Getting a nice cool shower after a long day in the yard and using scrubs and moisturizers to keep my skin soft.
-Getting in some me time out of the sun to relax but also take care of myself. At home pedis and enjoying a good book are my favorites right now. And staying hydrated with some peach tea!
Plus after all that work in the yard, I still want to be able to show off my soft summer skin!
