Thankfulness Thursdays Week 12--Thankful for Time Away

Today is week twelve of Thankfulness Thursdays where we meet up each week to share what we are thankful for from now until Thanksgiving.  You can write a simple list or focus on writing about one thing you are thankful for.  No rigid rules!

Also feel free to use the above image in your blog post if you wish!

Last week my husband and I celebrated our three year wedding anniversary in Puerto Vallarta.  It was a wonderful time to get away with my husband and have tons of quality time together relaxing and going on little adventures together.

But as I am back home and getting back into the swing of things I cannot help but feel changed.  I know so often people talk about how being away and disconnecting from the distractions from life is so refreshing.  And I get that.  But I feel something more.  I feel different.

Being away challenged me to rethink almost everything.  All these things that I have been aspiring to be has been put on hold because I always found something else to distract myself with.  And then I realized that those distractions were no longer worth it.

I do not want to forget how our trip to Puerto Vallarta changed me.  How it awoke a part of me that was lost in busyness and distractions.

So today I am thankful for time away.  I am thankful for Puerto Vallarta.  And I am thankful for my husband with whom my deepest desires in life are for.

What are you thankful for this week?

  4. Oh, I can't wait to plan a vacation again. We haven't been on a true vacation together since our honeymoon four years ago. I love such significant trips that help you grow as a person. I am so glad you had fun!
