Today is week sixteen of Thankfulness Thursdays where we meet up each week to share what we are thankful for from now until Thanksgiving. You can write a simple list or focus on writing about one thing you are thankful for. No rigid rules!
Also feel free to use the above image in your blog post if you wish!

This week I am thankful for joy. Around this time last year was the beginning of a rough winter. I went through a bit of minor depression and had a hard time being motivated and happy for a few months. Knowing this happened last year as well as being aware of my personality and struggles with matters that come around during the winter and holidays, since about February it has been on my mind to be purposeful in not repeating my dark winter of last year.
Though we are at just the beginnings of the holidays and what is yet to come I can tell that I am different. I am more balanced, happier, and thankful. Part of starting Thankfulness Thursdays was wanting to choose to train my mind differently for a more joyful heart this Thanksgiving and holiday season.
The older I get the more I realize that it is hard to be an adult. But I am also learning that I can decided on the life that I want. For me so much of figuring this all out and living it all out starts with my mindset and this week I am ever so thankful that it is in a positive place this year.

ReplyDeleteLet's try this again-- wishing you a very happy, balanced holiday season! Thank you for spreading the gratitude, it is making me a happier person too. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy to join you again this week for Thankfulness Thursday! I almost forgot, but it's been a nice ritual each week to take time to reflect.
ReplyDeleteAshley. I've been happily catching up with your blog. I'm a big fan of these Thankful Thursdays because you really keep it real. I admire that. It's easy to play it safe and only show the pretty parts of life on our blogs, but you don't. Today is a great example. Thanks for sharing about your past struggles, because the "blues" are actually more common than you think during the winter months.

I can't believe Thankfulness Thursdays are almost over :( It's been a great reminder to be grateful rather than only focusing on what I need, want, have to do, etc. Thanks for starting such a wonderful link-up!
