I love the quiet of January around the house. All the holiday decor gets tucked away and in it's place are clutter free counters, bowls of fresh fruit, and cuts of branches from the yard. I love spending quiet mornings with a hot cup of coffee as the stillness of January's chill places ice on our front porch. I look forward to the coming of Spring and reminders of fresh starts. January is quiet, reflective, and lovely.
A few new Christmas gifts are accessorizing our home:
-Colorful small bowls from Anthropologie to hold little nick knacks
-Large square white frames around our TV from Ikea
-New pillows in our bedroom to add color and pattern from HomeGoods
-Turquoise garden stool from Ross
You have such a beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteI cannot get over the hutch and all the amazing cake stands. I do not tire of looking at it at all! :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, you're so organized. It really makes me want to get my butt in gear and reorganize everything...except I am having fun being lazy lately. lol In truth, I am pretty darn organized, but I love all the light and airyness in your place.
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to put all the Christmas stuff away finally. I love all the sparkle it brings, but now everything looks so clean and empty. The rooms look bigger. :-)
I just love how eclectic and fun your decor is. It feel so cozy and just right :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You home is like a breath of fresh air. I've always avoided white walls because I thought they were too plain, but I like how you use white as a resting place for your eyes so your other bold accessories can stand out. I love the quietness of January too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. So glad to know about yours. I love the first vignette. Love gold + white...and always love little anthro touches. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty January vignettes you've created--I love the limes in the pretty milk glass container, the gold-framed mirror and the deep rosy pillow on the blue chair! So nice to hear from you over at my blog--thank you for the encouraging words!
ReplyDeleteI feel so calm just looking at the photos of your beautiful home. They really do convey that sense of quiet -- in a good way! -- that you wrote about. I have been craving that quiet lately, so we're on the same wavelength. :-)
ReplyDeleteAshley -- I've been missing you and your lovely blog! The last year hit me a lot harder than I expected, and I'd keep thinking I was through the tough part only to be swept back under. I *think* I'm finally emerging, but only time will tell. Anyway, let me know if you're ever up in Truckee and I will let you know when I have more than 5 seconds to pass through Sacramento!
xoxo,
tanja
Easily my faVorite post! Lovely snapshots. Your home has come together beautifully! Especially like the deep jewel tones wing back chairs!
ReplyDeleteWonderful blog, carry on!
