For Mother's Day this year we set up a little al fresco meal in the backyard honoring our mom's. The setup was pretty similar to our
last outdoor party, so I tried to change things up just a little bit. I went with an all pink flower centerpiece (because we are allowed to be super feminine for mom!) and went with some of my vintage inspired mix and match plates.
The lighting was just perfect the morning I set things up, putting me in a wonderful entertaining mood!
My latest favorite way to mix things up is with the napkins, paper straws, and plates. Because of my simplistic take on entertaining, so much of what I use is neutral and makes set up and storage so much easier, but lacks in variety. In comes a little color with the table settings.
And really, the table doesn't even need that much to still wow. Pretty sure I put more effort into the tablescape thanks to this little blog and all of you!!!
The polka dot napkins are from Target and I try to keep an eye out whenever I am shopping to pick up colorful ones. My color pallet is pretty consistent so I look for napkins that are primarily in the family of pinks and aqua.
Collected mismatched vintage plates and vintage look a likes add some fun to the table!
I usually order my paper straws on Amazon as I have found them to be the cheapest. I try to find the
packs of 144 for under $7 but unfortunately they don't come in a large variety of colors.
Flowers clipped from the yard, candle holders in gold and silver mercury glass, white table cloth and burlap runner--it all is very routine but it makes setting up so much easier so I have plenty of time to devote to the food.
I am obviously a bit behind but Father's Day tablescape is coming up soon as well! I did my best to try to make it a little more masculine! Cannot wait to share it with you!
