We celebrated my husband's birthday this weekend and I was fully consumed with being the role of party planner. Though I was doing it all for my husband, I was neglecting role of wife for perfect party host.
We took a moment in the midst of the chaotic afternoon of getting ready and paused. We checked in with each other and I realized I was neglecting my husband by being stressed about getting everything done.
So often I try to do the best to celebrate and honor my husband, but sometimes my over the top planning gets in the way of what he really needs.
I know I have touched on this subject before, but it seems to repeat itself in my life.
I think sometimes that maybe if I planned better ahead or streamlined my party planning, it would be a different scenario. But honestly, it really comes down to my heart and my perfectionism that gets in the way of really hearing and seeing my husband's needs.
