Fashionista Friday

Only a second week in to bringing back Fashionista Friday and I am already surprised at how much more I get dressed.  This was just the accountability that I needed to put myself a little more together.  So I hope you are enjoying the return of this series as much as I am.  And small confession...I did edit the pictures ever so slightly...just a little extra exposure and contrast.  It was super fast.  But setting this whole thing up in front of my desktop is most definitely a time saver.  But my perfectionist side thought a little lighting correction wouldn't hurt.  :)

And I know I said this last week, but as I become more aware of the outfits I put together, honestly, having a smaller wardrobe (but still fairly large) makes it so much easier to put something together that looks good.  I cannot tell you how many times I have thought to myself this week that I needed a new black skirt.  But I fought the temptation and settled with my navy one.  I am learning to make things work and proving contentment through these photos that I have more than enough cute clothes.

I also really like how you can see the many stages of our laundry basket.  It makes me laugh.

So here are my outfits for the week:

I am seeing a lot of black and brown together right now.  My play on such an easy but cute trend.

Dress: Marshall's (I also have one in red)
Sweater: American Eagle
Belt: thrifted
Necklace: 31 Bits
Leggings: Target
Boots: Steve Madden from Ross

Top: Banana Republic Outlet
Skirt: Thrifted H&M
Under my top: VS Pink Bandeau bra--
(It's cute and lacy but simple like a sports bra so not too showy under a see through blouse)
Sandals: Old Navy

This is what I look like most days.  I usually change out of my clothes if I will be home for a few hours or wait until I have to leave to really get dressed.  Can't blame a girl for wanting to be comfortable.

Sweatshirt: VS Pink
Leggings: VS Pink
Sports Bra: Target (I love these ones they sell)
Slippers: Old Navy

Top: Boutique in San Francisco
Skirt: Ross

Top: Banana Republic Outlet
Skirt: thrifted H&M
Satin Bow: Craft Store
Shoes: Marshall's

Top: Hand me down Forever 21
Sweater: Hollister

Wore this to meet my lovely blog friend, Sage Grayson, in real life for the first time!

Dress: Jessica Simpson from Marshall's

These series of photos are too funny.  My nephew kills me.  He finally figured out how to make a funny face apparently.

Flats: Steve Madden from TJ-Maxx

And here is the jacket I wore over it.

Jacket: Juicy Couture Outlet

Oh that kid.  Remember when he would join me in these photos way back when?  He has grown so much!

P.S. My brother and sister in law are pregnant with their second.  We are very excited!  And I look forward to balancing two little kiddos next year!  Oh the photos we will take... :)

  1. Your outfits are gorgeous, as always. Thanks for the shout-out! It was so nice meeting you in person. :) And I think all outfit photos are better when you make funny faces--haha!
