This year I thought it would be fun to start sharing the winning recipe of our annual holiday dessert party for the benefit of you all as well as the guests who attended the party. This year's winner was my childhood best friend's mom, Carolynn! I grew up going to many themed birthday parties at their house and their family has always been a source of inspiration for my early years of embracing my creativity! I am so glad we still stay in touch! Here is her recipe:
Carolynn's Pumpkin Cheesecake
1 package Krusteaz Pumpkin Pie Bar Mix (one pouch each crust mix and filling mix)
3 Tbsp butter, melted
16 oz cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
For Crust:
3 Tbsp butter, melted
16 oz cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
For Crust:
Stir together crust mix and melted butter with a fork until moistened.
Press into bottom of lightly greased, 9-inch springform pan.
Bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
For Cheesecake Filling: Place filling mix, cream cheese and eggs in medium bowl.
Using an electric mixer, mix on low speed until smooth.
Pour over hot crust.
Bake 40 minutes or until set.
For Topping:
Stir together sour cream, sugar and vanilla until blended.
Spread over cheesecake; bake an additional 5 minutes.
Cool completely.
Store in the refrigerator.
