Shopping For Inexpensive Home Decor

When it comes to home decor, I like the freedom to change things out.  Unfortunately I do not have a never ending decorating budget!  So to make the most of my money when it comes to decorating I try to shop smart.

I think there is often a misconception that you have to spend a lot of money in order to have a pretty furnished house.  It has taken me years to get my home to where it is but I am finally at a place where I feel settled in my decor.  We no longer need large furniture items so instead I am able to change out smaller items that don't make as big of a dent in our budget to go with current trends.  By having a neutral backdrop and timeless furniture pieces, I can change out a vase or framed piece of art at minimal cost while still offering large impact.

One of my favorite places to shop for pretty things at a reduced cost is Ross.  I am a huge fan of of their inexpensive home collection.  These blue ginger jars are so popular right now but you could easily drop hundreds of dollars on one somewhere else.  I cannot quite stomach that large of a purchase for something I cannot promise to love for many years to come.  Instead I picked this one up for about $15, the same price as going out to lunch.  Adding this one piece makes my whole buffet vignette look so much more upscale just by incorporating one on trend item.

I also love looking for white serving ware at Ross.  By investing in all white items for the kitchen and entertaining, I can mix and match pieces that all work well together.  This little bread pan gets used as a fruit bowl but also will make a small batch of brownies look pretty.  I always try to have my serving pieces act as double duty.  They serve a purpose in the kitchen, but are pretty enough to serve in or use in my decor.  At just $5, you can't go wrong.

Thanks to Ross, I was invited to check out a new store that recently opened up in Sacramento.  The new location is packed with so many new pretty things.  They have a little of everything so when I drag my parents and husband to come shop with me, even the men have things to check out!

If you are in the Sacramento area, two new Ross locations are now open!
