This chocolate banana coconut oatmeal protein shake is one of my favorites. The oats give it this amazing texture while the chocolate protein powder and coconut make it perfectly sweet.
I really try to keep my morning shake ingredients to a minimum. I have tried out smoothie cookbooks before but if it does not have ingredients I have regularly on hand, it usually doesn't stick with me. I hate buying one ingredient for one recipe only to be left with extra I do not know what to do with.
So while this shake has a few more ingredients than normal for me, they are all things I have all the time and the measurements are so simple that I have it memorized.
If you end up being crazy for this concoction like I am, you can even measure the dry ingredients ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator (for the chia seed) to just dump into the blender with the banana, water, and ice.
My protein powder of choice is Designer Whey (both the chocolate and vanilla). I did somewhat of extensive research on finding a powder that was healthy, tastes good, easily accessible, and reasonable in price. I am quite happy with it. I buy it from Target online and get it shipped to my local store to pickup but you can also get it from Amazon.
Either way you shake it, pure protein powder love.

Strawberry Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Shake

1 scoop chocolate protein powder (or one scoop vanilla protein powder with a teaspoon of cocoa powder)
1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup water

*You can also add spinach or kale to literally any smoothie recipe for added nutrients without adding any taste. I almost always add a handful.
