DIY Paint Pen Coffee Mugs

At our Moms Group we recently made paint pen coffee mugs.  It was a very simple but super fun craft that everyone enjoyed.  We provided the women white coffee mugs found at the dollar store and oil based paint pens.  There were also stencils to use or make their own if they wanted to create an outline.

To finish off the mugs, they are baked for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.  Once time is up, we found the best results were to let the mug completely cool sitting in the oven for a few hours.

As I always say, it is so fun to see how everyone makes such fun and unique designs on their own.  Seeing their personalities reflected in what they make is always a joy.

Here is an example of how to use the stencils.  Using contact paper, you can cut out a shape to then outline.

For this mug, she wrote her family's last name as well as all the names within her family.

The following two are mine that I am using to organize pens on my desk.
