Backyard Dinner for Mom

For Mother's Day this year we hosted my mom and mother in law for a little backyard dinner.  We have been getting a bit more spring rain than usual so it was especially enjoyable to enjoy a fairly green yard and garden celebrating the wonderful moms in our life.

While I waddle around in my third trimester, I still care how things look and that I am creating a setting that feels special.  So the secret to my success is finding pre-made decorative items that don't require a lot of planning ahead of time.  The key to this dinner's uniqueness were the adorable folded pink napkins that I found at Marshall's.

No centerpieces or extra decoration necessary.  I let the pretty pops of pink steal the show.

For dinner I served chicken taco salad, a pesto pasta salad, and cheesy bread.  All were able to be prepped ahead of time allowing myself to not have to rush to get dinner on the table.

Thankful for the moms we have in our life and an extra special Mother's Day as I celebrated with our little guy kicking in my stomach.  To many more delicious Mother's Day meals to come!
