I am not as much of a crafter these days but I thought I would share a few things I have made in the last year or so. And by a few - I mean a few. But I think they are pretty cute and could possibly spur on some inspiration.
Above is a picture of my diaper pouch I keep in my purse or diaper bag. I like having it in a separate bag (Petunia Pickle Bottom by the way) so I can hand it over to dad or drop it off with my son at the nursery at church. The beads and tassels were my way of trying to label it while keeping it cute. I purchased the letter beads at either Michael's or Joann's (forgive me as I cannot remember).
Now that our little guy has outgrown his baby blankets, I made a few larger ones for him. They are extra soft and cozy and have become his security blankets. We keep one in the car and one in the house. It is so sweet and quite helpful that he can calm down once he has it. I ordered minky patterned fabric from Spoonflower and then purchased less expensive fur for the backside from Joann's. A quick sew around the edges makes for a very easy and gratifying project. They are both one yard of fabric in size.
And the last project was making more tassels for my purse. I had made these back when I was pregnant and fighting carpal tunnel. It was a pretty serious task but I was determined to be productive as I sat in the air conditioned house with my feet up each day during that long and hot summer before our son was born.
// I have two more blankets on my to do list this winter so that we can have a few more around the house (and standbys for when they are in the wash). Nothing like a few little projects that can be completed in a couple of hours to help me rekindle my crafting ways!
