I put together my first #occasionsbin! I had bought heart paper plates and had leftover cute Valentine's
napkins that I forgot to use this year (I blame pregnancy brain)!
So
a specific place to hold all our seasonal supplies was in order. This
cute little basket is brightening up our kitchen and reminding me to not
forget to use all the cute things!
The shamrock plates are items I have hoarded for years
and finally am using again (see them in use with this playdate I planned with my nephew years ago)! I will pull them out when we have snacks.
Last night we made smores in the fireplace and I put the ingredients in
each spot - marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate! It felt extra
special to our son that we were having St. Patrick's Day smores!
And the rest are Magic Playbook printables (a fun seasonal monthly subscription full of activities, printables, and ideas to do with preschool age kids). We have some straws for drinking - though I am not sure how well a paper straw will go over with a two year old! And the flags are for decor/playing with. I also have some Easter plates tucked in the back so I don't forget about using them either!
I go back and forth with
seasonal stuff - what to put out and what to cut back on. This seasonal
basket is bringing me joy in a busy season of preparing for a baby. But
it's not something I need to feel like I do every holiday or every year.
While my kids are still little I feel like these are my trial years of
the traditions I want to have. And this little basket feels just about right this year.
