Spring is in the air and we all have an extra hop in our step for sunny days and the promise of flowers blooming. Celebrating the holidays with my kids is so fun. But as I feel like I keep saying over and over - I am truly trying to simplify, buy my kids less stuff, and have a slower paced home life. So this year I hung up my one favorite Easter banner on the fireplace mantel and then put all my other decorating energy into our Easter occasions bin.
Having one designated space for festive holiday things feels right in this season. I am reusing things that I had from previous years except for these new bunny plates I purchased at Target. I am also fighting the urge of buying seasonal disposable items. Instead, packing away a few cute plates with our Easter eggs isn't a big deal for me.
We will also do some spring time crafts that will hang on our art display wall. And between these few things, our home feels plenty decked out for spring. It still may feel like a lot for some. But for me, it is the right balance of creativity and festiveness while pulling back enough to enjoy being with my kids, doing the household tasks, and having energy at the end of the day to spend with my husband!
Carrots are from the Target dollar spot (they seem to have some sort of these every year). I put them in the kid's Easter baskets every year to look cute. :) The flags are from last year's Magic Playbook subscription. Star picks are leftover from my daughter's birthday (also from Target). Mini star bowls are from Target at Christmastime (I love that they can be used year around!).
Happy Spring!
