Almost 20 years in the making, I accomplished a big personal achievement. I finished reading the entire Bible that I started tracking back in college. What a transforming season it was back then. Never would I have imagined where I would eventually land all these years later.
My Bible I had gotten from when I interned in Jr. High ministry. I was leaving to attend a new church with a new ministry position. The students and staff gifted me a signed Bible that I would go on to use for many years later. Reading all their sweet messages, it was a reminder of how faithful God is. Little did I know what this new season would bring - growth in my faith, ministry experience, relationships built, and meeting Brent.
Of course I had many of the difficult books to get through in the end! But thanks to audio and a goal in mind, this past year I made it happen. And then finishing it in the quiet of the early morning, out in our yard, it was the loveliest gift of celebration.
To a new season. Lord, help me dig into your word again. Brew a new enthusiasm and faith in you. And may I set an example to my children.
