Our oldest recently turned eight and we celebrated with a super fun motocross themed birthday party! Brent and I dirt biked together before we had kids and before our son was even able to ride, he was getting his own kid sized motorcycle. A love for dirt biking has been in our family for a long time so when we decided to put together a motocross themed birthday party, everyone was very excited!
For the decorations, we kept with a red Honda theme. I purchased this Honda banner, a balloon arch, inflatable pool tires, and black and white checkered flags.
Our greenhouse/storage shed served as a perfect backdrop for all the decorations. It was helpful to have a place to prop the balloons up on and it gave the perfect rustic feel!
Brent laughed at me as I moved around some of our flowers to remain in the photos. I told him it was a race at the chateau! ;)
We put up checkered flags along our driveway to set up a racing track.
And Brent had some extra tires that we put out for more decoration.
Our son requested an ice cream cake so I made one with a chocolate whipped cream frosting! It was delicious and the perfect dirt cake for a motorcycle.
As always, we had birthday donuts for breakfast. Another one of our son's dirt bike toys was used to crawl up a mountain of sprinkles!
We set up some dirt biking armor and balloons for the birthday boy's seat.
We kept things relatively simple yet still festive inside so that he had something fun to wake up to. He knew ahead of time all the party set up was going to be outside.
I put out some of our other armor and helmets as decoration. And I saved some of the balloons from the balloon arch to use inside.
Our son drew some motorcycles and asked me to hang them on everyone's seats! So cute!
We got him his own riding jersey as his gift.
It is safe to say he loved it all! A very happy birthday boy!
We also got him a dirt biking shirt he could wear for his party.
After donuts, playing with balloons, and opening gifts, we headed outside to ride!
All the kids were very excited to see our set up outside! It was so much fun!
Then everyone got suited up to ride!
They later enjoyed playing with the inflatable tires. They rolled them down to our cars to pretend to change a tire!
Then a fun morning was finished off with lunch and cake. He told me his favorite part of the day was cake! Haha! All that work and he just loves chocolate. Good thing I obliged with his request to make an ice cream cake. Our sweet boy! He is a joy to celebrate.
